What is a car key API?

A car key API connects vehicle information to key and remote product data. Car Key API lets your application browse makes, models, and years, then retrieve matching products and fitment details as JSON.

What data does a lookup return?

Responses include the vehicle, matching key and remote products, SKUs, part numbers, keyway type, button count, features, and fitment metadata where available. Cutting and programming fields may be null when unknown. Product image URLs are included when available.

Can I use it with my own website or software?

Yes. Use the standalone API from your backend to power your own storefront, locksmith application, or internal tool. Your backend keeps the API key private and passes the results to your interface.

Which vehicles are supported?

Use the makes, models, and years endpoints to discover vehicles with matching imported key or remote products. Coverage varies by vehicle. Validate the makes, models, and years your business needs before launch.

Does it cut or program car keys?

No. This is a catalog and fitment data API. It can return cutting and programming indicators where known, but it does not perform key cutting, programming, or vehicle security operations.

How do pricing and access work?
